Any idea about this book?
Ok, this is a long shot, but I'll give it a try. Years and years ago (I was very young) when I was first getting into reptiles I used to have access to a book on reptile and amphibian husbandry. I've been trying to remember the title of the book for some time now, hopefully one of you guys have an idea. I think it was published in the 60-70's. It had a couple of photos of the Borneo earless monitor as well as a small section on keeping them in captivity. I believe the author lived in Europe. He had a good section in the book on captive crocs, even had some photos of his captive gharial babies. I also remember a short story in there about him keeping the world's largest captive collection of crocs at the time, over 18 species, all down in his basement. The story goes on about how no one knew he had all these reptiles in his basement and his wife had some of the neighborhood friends over for a card game. I guess at the same time one of his male adult alligators started bellowing.
This book was one of the most infuential publications in my life and I would love to track down a copy. Anyone have any ideas? It would mean alot to me.
