What is the growth rate for these guys ? I Have a male, 17 inches @ 13 months old. I am looking to build an outdoor habitat for him next spring. I am curious if this may be too soon.

Thanks !

Sorry for the delay in answering you.
Typically I see Cyclura hatchling at 12 inches one year olds are around 16 to 17 inches and 2 year olds are 24 to 27 inches.
Factors that affect grow rate are of course diet, and environment, animals raised outside grow faster.
Another big factor is sex and more than you would think is cage crowding.
Even if you have the right diet and outside in south Florida but your cages are crowed with other hatchlings will play a significant role in growth rate, especially if two males are kept in a small space after the first year that will really impact growth rate.
I hope that helps.

Thank you for the reply.
That does help me alot. I have him in a 36x30 indoor habitat right now with uvb and uva lighting with a 105 degree basking spot. I give him calcium spray on his greens. He will be outside in the summer months of the year until his is full grown. I plan to build a 10ftx20ft outdoor habitat. Still working out the details on a hotbox design. I live in Alabama and i know it won't be easy but i will build whatever he needs to be happy and healthy! If you have any more advise or opinions let me know.

Thanks again for your time!
