Fined/Suspended list

I gotta say, as I look through threads, the fined/suspended list is growing by the minute and contains some good people and good contributors. I don't know the specifics of each one but where is this site heading? Seems to be in the wrong direction to me. Am I wrong? (I'm sure some mods will tell me I am but we all know about the double standard that exists there).

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, why don't you say more about what you think a better path might be, and how you would get there?
Also, I would think that the 'specifics' would be very important as far as having an informed opinion.

I don't have a better path. What I see is a site that had value in the BOI but has become pretty meaningless on the rest of the site. Very little participation for the amount of users. Quality people fined and suspended (ill spare you the list since you know it). It seems that it is more about generating revenue than creating a community where people feel comfortable asking questions and getting answers.

There are complex issues here; while it is good to give feedback, without alternative suggestions you are tearing down rather than building. What do you think viable alternatives might be?

I see a lot of quality people on that list as well. But they put THEMSELVES on that list. I wish some would come back and others I am happy they are gone.

How did they put themselves on the list? I see a lot of the crap is still hanging around here and people who can actually contribute are gone. I am a member of other forums that don't have fined/suspended lists and don't have the issues that this site does. It all comes from the top and the mods. When you breed an antagonistic environment, what do you expect from the members?

Where are you seeing this list, I really do not focus on such things since I prefer to be a builder and facilitator, I don't even know where such a list is posted.
In any case, I think that building is better than destroying, perhaps you could make some positive suggestions.

Maybe you do believe that but others dont. What I see is posts with fined/suspended next to a lot of peoples name. A lot of the people who used to contribute here are gone. What we are left with are classified ads and very little constructive advice.

So to help, are you are going to sign up as a mentor, and take time to post in the forums?

Possibly...I do a lot of posting on another forum that I feel is more constructive. That is my priority. If I can find the time I will. Or possibly, I will wait to see how things shake out here. Here's a thought. Cut down on the multitude of unused forums and focus on building a solid community. For instance, the Leopard Gecko community is huge on this site. In fact I would venture to say that aside from the BOI it is the most popular forum. You have great people like Kelli, Jeremy, etc who make that forum great. Focus on getting rid of the dead weight users who do nothing but come here to advertise their crap for sale. Make the mods less antagonistic (ok possibly not even remotely do-able). Its a start though...
