i think albigularis make the best "big" monitor pets they become almost predictable when you figure out thier personalities. I've had a few over the years and still keep one now that i hatched from one of my breedings.
ive kept:
ackies, red and yellow
pilbaras
whitethroats and blackthroats
australian sand monitors v.gouldi
argus monitors
niles
water monitors
right now i only keep my one male cape whitethroat, lots of red ackies, argus monitors and a pair of iranian sand monitors. argus and whitethroats make cool pets but are demanding overall number one best pet monitor will always be the ackie!
