Keeping different species together

I currently have 2 adult red eye tree frogs, that I've had for over a year. My husband purchased 2 clown frogs yesterday and I was wondering if we could eventually keep them together b/c they pretty much require the same care. The clowns have a lot of growing to do so we wouldn't put them to together until they were almost equal in size.

Thanks,
Jess

You might be able to keep them together, since their husbandry requirements are similar ... but I would think it would depend upon the size of the tank they might share (the taller the tank the better for both species), how aggressive your RE trees might be (being older and already established together) and frog size considerations, as you already know.

Both species can be fragile, easily stressed and agressive toward "new comers". I think if it were me, I'd just keep the clowns in their own separate tank. Clowns are very cool - congrats!

Little late to the party.

I would say no. RETF are a lot bigger than clown tree frogs. It is going to cause IMHO too much stress for the clowns. RETF need bigger sized prey which is also going to stress out the clowns.

You are better off setting up a new tank and keeping them seperate
