No snow here yet. But got plenty of goodies from canning this summer to feed a small army.
Relish, jams, jellies, corn, tomatoes, green beans, zucchini stew stuff, salsa, cold packed deer meat. And a whole freezer full of newly butchered deer, cow and pig.

A few cases ( ok maybe more than a few) of home made beer stocked in the garage fridge, about 100 bottles of home made wine in the basement. Need a couple cartons of cigs and you will not see me for weeks.

So if any body runs out make it to my house.

Finally stopped snowing here in Chicago. It was supposed to be the worst storm in 30-40 years but it doesn't look that bad from my window. (I am from South Dakota, we get snow like this every winter) I did go to the grocery store yesterday to pick up food just in case it did get bad. Frozen pizza, mac and cheese, lots of things to drink. However, while I was waiting in the massive lines at the grocery store, there was one person that caught my eye. The guy waiting in the 20 minute line to buy his 6 pack of miller high life. Apparently all he needs for the next two days while he is stranded in his apartment is 6 miller high lifes. Bare essentials. haha

That guy is probably like me & either didn't know there was a big storm coming, or was totally unphased by the information. The difference is I would have gotten my stuff, seen the lines, put my stuff back, and gone home. No patience for waiting in line like that.

Living in northern Wisconsin, it feels exceptionally odd to see everybody talking about their blizzard-y conditions when my driveway and roads are perfectly clear. -25 degree wind chill warning tonight, though.

Our house is fine for a few snowed-in days as long as we can run the generator for the reptiles/aquarium and to keep phones charged... Thank God for smartphones with internet, even when the power's out.

You can't foreget the whiskey and maybe a couple of good movies you haven't seen.

Heck, I would just stock a couple copies of Al Gore's Book, An Inconvenient Truth: The Planetary Emergency of Global Warming and What We Can Do About It to toss out the door to melt the snow and ward off the cold weather. Darn shame that the weather isn't cooperating with this "global warming" we are having, now isn't it?

Yeah, its pretty funny. We see some ice melting in the arctic and think the world is warming up, its actually getting colder everywhere else. The earth will always balance itself out, never staying the exact same.

Wow, we just got power back here after 3.5 days without electricity thanks to an ice storm here in Ohio. Luckily we have a small natural gas heater in the bathroom so we were able to put all the snakes in there to keep warm. Everyone is fine.
