Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Pre-Lay Shed Experience
Has anyone ever had a female lay eggs without going thru a pre-lay shed? I've heard anecdotal evidence, but it's never happened to me, and I'd like to hear from anyone who's actually had this occur.

hey john.yes sir i have expereinced it a couple of times..oddly enough they were both wc females.i didnt even get an ovulation from them either.or i didnt see one.so what i do now is check them periodly for folicle this year.

I didn't witness any ovulations last year and 5 out of 6 of the females layed. They all had prelay sheds that was the only thing I had to go by for an egg lay count down. Maybe people think the snakes just shed, when in fact they ovulated and it is the prelay shed.

I did. Had a female shed twice early in the year and thought the second was a prepay shed. Then 4 months later she layer eggs.

I've have a female that went opaque for a pre-lay shed and cleared up and never shed despited being misted and laid eggs.
