That's gotta be a record for seeing a judge in this state. LOL Must have to do with the extradition treaty laws or something.

Well, at least we now have a fingerprint ID. Gonna be hard for people to question that.

Well, that's it. According to that news report he admitted his real name court.
LOL, it only took five years of this thread before a admission from the target of this thread that there is no "David Beauchemin".

Damon James Heynen is done, for now.

Hey Tim Capps, law enforcement might not be interested in you for helping Damon hide his identity but I don't think anyone here will forget that you assisted him in plaguing this community.

Does anyone know why HEH website is still up. If he has been on the run for what 6 months who was paying for the hosting and how?

It was down when I looked at it last night. Don't know if payment ran out, LE took it down, temporary, or Tim might be getting nervous that the website he setup to hide Damon's real name was concerning for him now that he has official admitted who he is.

I'm going to go on a limb here and say that the article written by the journalist did not bother to check on the actual spelling of the name and just wrote it out based on how it sounded to them. The news video clip did have the name spelled as Heynen.

From the first article...

Quote:
Blalock says Heynen is wanted under aliases in Georgia, Idaho, Illinois Louisiana and California.
The Georgia angle hit the BOI radar as he was going by the Johnson / Johnston alias try to sell off stuff off after the Louisiana fiasco began its crash dive and of course was using that alias when caught in Texas. Wonder what he did in Illinois and Idaho to be wanted there? That seems to be new info I don't think anyone picked up on; wonder if it's recent or old stuff.

From the second article...

Quote:
Blaylock said a Georgia driver's license was found at the scene with the name James Patrick Johnston, who is listed as a missing person.

Neither Johnston nor Tawni Beauchemin, the wife of Beauchemin/Heyman, have been located.
Her purse and identification were at the scene.
do those comments bother anyone? wow.

Custody of Seized Snakes Awarded
Written by Clayton Neville
Tuesday, 26 April 2011 17:02

A hearing was held today in Wood County to determine custody of nearly 80 snakes seized from a Wood County property in Quitman last week.

Police arrested a man believed to be David Beauchemin on 22 counts of animal cruelty from Louisiana before seizing the reptiles. This afternoon in the Wood County court of Judge Tomerlin, the man revealed his true identity as Damon James Heynen.

Judge Tomerlin ruled custody of the snakes to the Humane Society of North Texas and ruled that Heynen be responsible for the cost of caring for the animals, which to date totals $4,000.

Dr. Cynthia Jones, veterinarian for the North Texas Humane Society, took the stand in the hearing and commented on the conditions of the snakes when seized. Dr. Jones said, “20% of the snakes showed mouth rot and all but four were dehydrated.”

According to Dr. Jones, all of the reptiles were in need of veterinary care. “The snakes would have died of dehydration if left in the condition they were found,” said Dr. Jones.

While on the stand, Dr. Jones explained that the snakes, ranging from Bermise Pythons to Yellow Anacondas, were not indigenous to Texas let alone the United States.

Dr. Jones said the Humane Society now has to decide what to do with the snakes. The doctor mentioned that organizations such as zoos and similar venues that will properly care for the reptiles will be considered by the Humane Society for possible homes for the snakes after the appeals process is seen through.

According to jerry Blalock of the Wood County Sherriff’s department, he and Wood County authorities were informed by police in California that Beauchemin’s true identity was that of Damon James Heynen. “We submitted fingerprints of his (Heynen) while in our custody and they matched those on file in California under a Damon Heynen,” said Blalock. Heynen faces 79 counts of animal cruelty in Wood County. According to testimony from Heynen, he went by another name because his real name revealed that he was charged with Manslaughter in California nearly 20 years ago. Heynen served 6 years in a California prison for this offense.

Blalock says Heynen is wanted under aliases in Georgia, Idaho, Illinois Louisiana and California.

Heynen claimed in his testimony that the trailer the snakes were found in and the RV was found in do not belong to him. Heynen said both the snakes and the RV belong to Tawnie Beauchemin. Heynen claimed that Tawnie is a friend of his while Louisiana authorities believe this to be his wife. Wood County Authorities are currently searching for Tawnie Beauchemin.

Animal abuser awaits extradition
DeRidder, La. —

David Beauchemin, formerly of Oakdale, is in jail in Texas awaiting extradition to Louisiana.

Beauchemin and his wife, Tawni, were arrested March 19, 2010 in Oakdale on charges of obstruction of justice, theft by fraud, and 22 counts of animal cruelty.

David Beauchemin was out on bond when he was arrested again for making harrassing phone calls to a witness in the case.

The Beauchemins failed to appear in court in September, and were on the lam until David was arrested by the Wood County Sheriff's Office last week.

He had been living in the area under the alias of James Johnston.

Lt. Jerry Blaylock with the Wood County Sheriff's Department in Quitman, Texas said Beauchemin's real name is Damon James Heyman or Haymen.

Blaylock said both names were used by the defendant, and fingerprint records from California state he served six years in prison for manslaughter in 1992.

At the time of Heyman's arrest in Texas he was using the name James Johnston.

Blaylock said a Georgia driver's license was found at the scene with the name James Patrick Johnston, who is listed as a missing person.

Neither Johnston nor Tawni Beauchemin, the wife of Beauchemin/Heyman, have been located.
Her purse and identification were at the scene.

Heyman is in jail awaiting a governor's warrant for extradition to Louisiana, which can take 30-60 days.

He is facing 79 counts of animal cruelty in Texas, and charges in Arizona are pending.

Allen Parish animal abuser arrested in Texas
DeRidder, La. —

David Beauchemin, 45, of Oakdale, was arrested in Quitman, Texas on April 19.

Beauchemin and his wife, Tawni, are wanted on outstanding warrants for failure to appear in court in Allen Parish in 2010.

Deputies removed 79 boa constrictors, pythons, and anacondas from his Quitman property, and turned them over to the Humane Society of North Texas.

The snakes were housed in a cargo trailer, and had not been cared for.

Beauchemin is being held without bond pending extradition to Louisiana, and Texas charges.

Beauchemin is also wanted in Arizona on similar charges.

Beauchemin and his wife, Tawni, 24, were arrested March 19, 2010 in Oakdale on charges of obstruction of justice, theft by fraud, and 22 counts of animal cruelty.

Deputies raided their 13 acre property, and stated at the time it appeared small animals, including dogs and cats, were being fed to the snakes.

A volunteer for the Humane Society of West Louisiana in DeRidder brought a dog she had listed on Craigslist to the Beauchemins.

Tawni Beauchemin had told the woman the dog was a present for her husband.

When the volunteer checked Craigslist again she found her dog for sale. She filed a report with the state Attorney General's office and the Allen Parish Sheriff's Office.

The property was raided and the volunteer was called to pick up her dog, who had been kept in a small cage with no food or water.

The Humane Society of West Louisiana was contacted, and deputies delivered 16 dogs and five cats. One additional dog had died on the way to the adoption center.

Several of the animals died due to neglect, and some were so ill they were euthanized.

HSWL volunteers were able to save some of the animals, who were adopted.

The Beauchemins ran High End Herps, an exotic snake farm, and sold snakes on the internet.

They also ran Happy Hounds Rescue which was advertised as a safe haven for unwanted pets.

Deputies had reports from neighbors that they suspected the Beauchemins were feeding stray pets to the snakes.

The Beauchemins were cited for having 22 snakes that were over 12 feet long without permits.

Authorities estimated about 200 to 300 snakes and other animals were on the property.

The Louisiana Association of Reptile Keepers rescued 21 pythons.

David Beauchemin bonded out of jail on the charges, after his wife had been allowed to go home to care for the remaining animals.

David Beauchemin was arrested again in May 2010 for making harrassing phone calls to a witness in the case.

A July court date for arraignment was set, and again in September, when they failed to appear.

Bench warrants were issued, and the pair had disappeared until David Beauchemin was arrested last week.

Tawni Beauchemin fled the scene, leaving her handbag and ID.

David Beauchemin was arrested by the Wood County Sheriff's office. He had been living in the area under the alias of James Johnson.

By DORIS MARICLE / AMERICAN PRESS

A snake breeder from Oakdale remains in a Texas jail as authorities work to have him returned to Louisiana to face animal cruelty charges.

David Beauchemin, 45, who says his real name is Damon James Heyman, is being held in the Wood County, Texas, jail without bond, authorities said. A governor’s warrant is being sought to return him to Allen Parish, according to Allen Chief Deputy Grant Willis.

Texas authorities are expected to file 79 counts of animal cruelty against Beauchemin, according to Wood County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Jerry Blaylock.

In a Wood County court on Tuesday, testimony was heard from deputies, game wardens, Humane Society members and a veterinarian who examined 79 snakes seized from a cargo trailer on Beauchemin’s property in Quitman, Texas, last week.

The snakes, which include pythons, constrictors and anacondas, were reportedly dehydrated, malnourished and kept in filthy conditions.

The court put the snakes in the custody of the North Texas Humane Society in Fort Worth. Beauchemin was ordered to pay $4,000 to the organization to fund the care of the snakes.

Beauchemin has 10 days to appeal the custody ruling. If he doesn’t, the snakes will be adopted out to zoos and other licensed care facilities, Blaylock said.

Beauchemin was arrested last Wednesday in Quitman on a warrant stemming from a March 2010 raid on his business south of Oakdale.

Beauchemin’s wife, Tawni, 24, is also sought on a warrant. Authorities found her purse and other belongings at Beauchemin’s residence, Blaylock said.

The Beauchemins in September failed to appear for arraignment in 33rd Judicial District Court on 21 counts of cruelty to animals and one count of possession of snakes longer than 12 feet without a permit. Other charges they face include violating interstate commerce laws by selling snakes that were not legal to possess, theft of less than $300 by fraud, telephone harassment and cyberstalking.

Truthfully I wouldn't really be all that surprised to find out he offed someone for their identity or even offed "Tawni" for one reason or another. It was plain to see he's a complete and total sociopath and obviously very dangerous to both animals and humans alike.

I started thinking the same way Adrian, after I read the part about Tawni's stuff being present, but not her, and him having that Georgia ID. Then the "large amount of cash" part sealed it for me.

I just want to see him face his crimes in each state, since they won't just put a round in the head of these types. Maybe he'll try and escape in TX and get himself shot. LOL

It has been a long time since Kathryn "Spiritualosophy" posted here. She knew Damon and helped out here. She also mentioned the girl that left California with Damon or at-least the girl that he was engaged to when she last seen him was "Brittany".

She looked at some pictures early on in this thread but pictures weren't that good.
I wish she would come on and look at the mugshots of Tawni. I sent her a email.
