In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I had a litter of boas born from a hypo female.... now I'm 99% positive that these guys were fathered by the albino male that was in with her, but I also had an anery male in with her as well. The anery male was in there much to late to be the father, but by no means will losing a couple hundred dollars on each boa hurt me, so my loss is your gain. This will be the cheapest way to produce Sunglow boas. Inquire for deals on pairs, including pairing with 100% Het Albinos!

100% Dh Sunglows- $900 each

100% Het Albinos- $200 for females

$100 for males

how long was the albino male in there and when did the anery male get introduced to her.

reply

The albino male was introduced to her 135 days before birth and was in there for apprx. 3 weeks. The anery male was in there with her only apprx. 105 days before birth, meaning he couldn't possibly be the father.

Post some pics of the babies

I wanna see the pics of the babies.. Thats the only way to be sure. I'm not questioning your judgment of the snakes, just difficult to pay $900 for a boa, expecting to be able to get Sunglows and just get 100% Hets if bred to a female otr male albino. For some people that don't have a lot of money its a difficult descision becasue that could mean 3 yrs of a breeding project to see results or 6 yrs if it fails to produce.. which is a long long time. So you can see my concern in wanting to see the babies. Personally I hope they are i'll get one 100% certain of that. So lets see some pics.

if you like you can send them to my email
[email protected]

Thanks,
Ken

Jon, you are lying blatantly on this thread and you know it.

You know for a fact that the anery was in with the female at 116 days before birth and the albino was a sluggish breeder.. (I Have your emails) And a great little tool I was pointed out called snag it. So I even have screen shots. So please do not tell half truths to try and get more then they are worth. And if needed a boi thread will be made with every single screen shot I have to provide ample evidence. Later

I remember being linked to a thread on another site regarding this specific breeding... Just a friend kinda wanting an opinion who was looking for het animals.

While I respect the honesty in mentioning in the ad that the female was with multiple males, the time frames and durations between copulation and birth seem to have shifted a bit. In the post on another forum, I recall distinctly that the duration of time involved would have made it possible for either of the males to be the father... Possibly even both depending on how receptive she was at which point.

It's just not "right" to make ANY judgement calls one way or the other about the genetics of the neonates in a situation like this. There really can't be any accurate guess made as to which male ended up fathering the clutch (the possibility that they both may have fathered individual neonates exists as well). I have no issue with the pricing... your animals, sell 'em for whatever you want... But the "99% positive they are double hets" thing is seriously misleading. If you stay on that track, insisting that's the case then it will end up being misrepresentation rather than poor wording.

And to think... there are some people who worry about labeling animals as hets if the mother was bred to multiple males the season before because sperm retention is possible (not likely, but possible). Whole opposite end of the spectrum here.

slugish male

My double het ghost was slow to go, so I threw in a fresh shed from another very active breader male and presto... on May 3rd 6 ghost, 2 anery, 12 dbl het ghost and 10 pos het. I never mess around with multiple males because of this type of thread. Good luck on your sales of your babie's and learn from this lesson. By the way were there any albino's in the clutch?

I tell you what Jon-E Boy yu sell me a hypo for $400 i'll breed him to my Female Albino in 1.5 years. And I'll give you two free ALBINO's. Only if I get SUNGLOWS out of that litter would you get these Albino's though. So if your 100% certain of the genetics then do it for $400. You can get yourself two free Albinos if it produces. If I don't get any Sunglows i'm out of the game for another 3yrs to produce myself a Sunglow. And you don't get anything except for the original $400 I paid for the Boa. Seems fair to me..
Email me and send some pics. better yet put some pics on this thread so everyone can see.. I've read all the other threads about the question of Genetics with these babies and you have yet to provide any pictures of individual babies. I think anyone that is at all interested in purhcasing these would at least like to see pics of the individual babies.
I certainly would not say you are 99% sure that they are DH though. I would be a canon on the loose if I bought what I thought was a DH for Sunglow and not get any Sunglows from breeding it to a Albino.

Oh, another pressing concern. Jon did you ever take the albino male in to have him tested? I know I would panic and get any animal I had tested for IBD the moment I was concerned it was possible they had it. ESPECIALLY if I was trying to sell neonates he potentially sired.

Also did "the seller" get back to you? I know I wouldn't settle for a non response when I spend that kind of money for a breeder that does absolutely no breeding and shows the signs of IBD and loses 6 pounds of weight in a matter of weeks and vomits up fluid regularly. Come on Jon, I know you have read this thread since you were called out.. Feel free to respond.

hmmm....

Factoring everything in, it seems that $900 isn't such a steal.

I wonder if the moderators could attatch this to the existing Thread on the BOI.

I would like to say that throwing the term "IBD" around is not something that should be done recklessly. However, Randy isn't the one who suggested that it might have IBD. Mr. Falco expressed concern about possible IBD in an email to the seller when the snake was in too poor of health to breed. That is why I believe that this litter is not from the albino male. I am not here to say the snake had IBD, or even that there was a chance it did, just that that is what Jon's concern was. Was it ever taken to a vet? Got a report?
Also in the email, he even states that the female was carrying the litter of another male, since the albino couldn't possibly do the job.

I don't know if he wrote that email to get money back on the albino, or if he actually thought it had IBD and wouldn't breed. Either way, someone is showing his colors, especially now that he is stating that he is 99% sure the albino is the father. Either he was trying to rip off the seller, or is now trying to rip off potential customers.
