Question Needing advice. How would I sanitize a room that had a sick animal in it

So that my other animals don't get sick too?

I bought a dumbo rat from a local petshop that I actually intended on keeping as a pet. He was great, but during his time in my quarantining room I discovered he was really ill. There was a lot of blood & some mites!!! I returned him within 24 hours & chewed out the manager for selling sick animals.

Anyways, I plan to bring home a reptile at the end of the month from an expo. I'll be keeping him in the quarantining room obviously. But I'm concerned that he'll catch whatever the rat had? I'm so paranoid about this sort of thing. I'm just looking for ways to possibly sanitize the room after having a sick animal in there to prevent whichever illness from being passed on to another...Any advice is appreciated!!!

I probably post too many new threads, but this is where I come for a lot of info when I'm in a tricky situation. If any of you want me to shut up at any point please let me know.

Shut up.

Just kidding. (hey, you asked for it)
Relatively few diseases would pass from rat to reptile, especially with having to live without a host for 3-4 weeks; but I tend to try to err on the safe side, as well. If the same enclosure and supplies will be used, I would clean them with a bleach solution - leaving wet for at least 5-10 minutes (rinse thoroughly afterwards). Beyond that, I've been known to wipe down walls with Chlorhexidine...but that's pretty rare.
