In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Info Shipping faux pas from Bri Martin

That's just TERRIBLE! How can someone ship live animals this way in a day and age where you can find anything online in a matter of minutes.

There's so many "How To" reptile shipping videos out there.

We (Reptile Express) have a few: Click Here

LLLReptile has one: Click Here

Underground Reptiles has one: Click Here

Ralph Davis has one: Click Here

....I think I've made my point. There's TONS out there.

On top of that there's TONS of places to purchase insulated shipping boxes/supplies:
Reptiles Express (USA)
Ship Your Reptiles
TSK Supply
Superior Shipping Supplies
and us in Canada - Reptile Express

Being in the reptile industry, I'm surprised how this lady didn't take a few minutes to research proper methods.

Shameful...:NoNo:
and she should refund your shipping as a small way to apologize. :yesnod:

Thank you, Reptile Kings, for your post with the helpfull links. And thank you for understanding how I feel. At first I thought she just didn't know how to ship, but now I have come to realize that it was just about the money for her or she never would have tried to lie about the shipping method. However, I fwd'ed the email she had sent pertaining to the shipping method back to her, so she knows I kept the emails that were about this transaction. It is a matter of principle now that she refund full shipping fee to indicate remorse for putting the reptiles at risk and to indicate a desire to make things right. That is the only thing that will show people that she is interested in the health and wellbeing of animals she ships. That, at least, will serve to lighten, if not erase, this black mark on her business reputation. I think people who have read this will be watching closely to see what her shipping protocol and customer service is like from this point on. It may hurt her business reputation if she doesn't try to make ammends for this.

Well, I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that noone likes to be lied to! I called Fedex just to be sure and they were very helpful. The lady I spoke to looked up the tracking number and confirmed that the package had been shipped Ground instead of Overnight Express, which I already knew, but it was nice to have confirmation from Fedex. I asked if it was illegal to ship live animals that way and the person helping me didn't know, so she asked her supervisor, who wasn't sure either, but she did tell me that, if they had known what was in the package, they wouldn't have agreed to transport it, that Fedex doesn't knowingly transport live animals Ground. They would have reccommended that my package be shipped overnight express.

I posted on here and my bearded dragon friends group on Facebook urged me to post about my bad experience on there, too, so people could read about the problem I had with this seller and decide whether or not to do business with her.

I don't believe it's ILLEGAL to ship animals Ground, but it is 100% against Fedex policy. IT's also HIGHLY frowned upon in the community.

I was hoping to get information on how to ship properly. You mentioned a link that gave that info. Would you forward it to me?

Correct. :iagree:
It's not illegal as there is no charge for it under the criminal code.
However, the person would be breaking FedEx's Terms of Service.
Also the contract FedEx provides upon 'certifying' you, clearly states that live animals must only be sent Priority Overnightand nothing else.

This lady clearly is in breach of that contract and should have her certification removed! FedEx takes this stuff very seriously.

I'm still surprised. I had thought the days were people shipped this way were over with all the tools available out there now to ship properly.
I guess not....

At first I thought she had made an honest mistake through ignorance, but then she lied about it, so now I know that she is dishonest and that she has little regard for her animals. I am sorry to see this kind of mindset in one who raises animals with the intention of selling them to the public. This experience has made me very wary of people. You should be able to trust the breeder....End result, I have 2 adult female dragons that I am unsure about because I no longer believe anything I was told by this person.

Warning: Please utilize the appropriate discussion forums (Shipping or Bearded Dragons would be relevant in this case) or private messages if help/information is needed on how to ship. This is a BOI thread; and discussion is limited to the seller listed in the title, and transactions with her.

good catch
i looked at her profile and saw her one friend was spidermanbeardies remember that BOI lol
that was a fun one hes still trying to sell them as hypos
go figure lol

I would suggest that anyone that has received an animal that might have been "abused" by brianna martin report it to the aspca. I had one semi decent experience the second one mysteriously had been bit when she was evoking the other dragons by waving horn worms around. I later found out that the poor beardie had been bit on her mouth and the flap of skin had been pushed over to look normal. I know that she owns multiple animals that if she treats her beardies like this , what do you expect for the others especially a pitbull . Hmmmm...people like this should face the full extent of the law and not be allowed to own animals (mike vick???). I have had several experiences to where I have felt bad for an animal , this one is so beautiful and I gaurentee needs from her elbow down amputate. I am calling the aspca tommorrow I recommend people that had experiences like vickie do so also . I mean seriously she put my beardie with an infected arm in a used bag that smelled horrible , I thought she was dead.

Damn...I suggest you name those beardies Zena and Athena....cause...damn right those are troopers right there. I hope they are doing good now and that horror is WELL behind them. Thanks for the heads up on this. Update us on their condition.

Hi Stavros, they are doing better, thanks for asking. The little hypo girl still hasn't laid any eggs so I am beginning to wonder about her. The other girl is still thin but is eating now so I think she is finally coming out of it. She was the one I was really afraid for. Her setback from the shipping stress has left her very thin, but I think she will gain her weight back now. It is a shame she had to go through all this, though, when it could easily have been avoided.
