In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

By Far the Coolest Thing I've Ever Kept!

Hey, I know it's been a while since you posted in here. Curious to know how you're getting on.
I keep Seminatrix, (which are much smaller than these, but I have more in a tank) and find that live plants are excellent for helping with water quality.

Shes doing well, still growing quickly, and i have read about live plants and how great they are for aquatic snakes. Im currently in the process of moving everyone to the new snake room so after i get her to the new room and new tank ill put some live plants in there.

So i recently caught her out and about so i snapped a few pictures, sorry about the quality of some of them, moving water doesnt help lol also snapped some of her in her favorite hiding spot. Enjoy!

Yeah, I know of A. granulatis AKA little or banded file snake doing poorly in captivity. They are a largely marine species inhabiting the Northern Australian coast to the southern coast to New Guinea, when they're young they hide in brackish mangroves which could make water setup confusing, and it water quality isn't spot on they will quickly die. In most cases however they're imported poorly and have a large amount of stress during shipping, containment, resale, quarantine, then permanent habitat, when Acrochordus get stressed they grow White Spot Fungus, A granulatis gets it bad, if it covers the nostrils breathing becomes very difficult, in turn causing more stress then death.

It can take a few months or a few years for thiaminase levels to accumulate in your pet from eating goldfish. I have enjoyed this thread and look forward to more pics and info over time. Thanks for sharing to help me become a better herp keeper.

Cody, you have done so well with one of my most favoritest snakes ever in the whole wide world. I don't know if they feed on goldfish in the wild, so I don't know if that is going to cause a long-term accumulative affect on the health of your individual. I imagine that all fish prey in the wild are not goldfish. I just wanted to toss that out here as something possibly worth considering.
Here's a couple of other links. Kinda new here so not sure if linking to other forums is okay.

I have read the acrochordus site as if it were the bible! Since I got her fully aquatic snakes have been my absolute favorite subject! I would (after reading that) want to look into other sources of feeders, but wouldnt know where to start. I work at a pet shop so i get feeder comet goldfish for cheap, and theyre big enough to be a substancial food source. Feeder shinners or guppies or minnows would just be a snack. And shes only getting bigger with the potential to get huge (6-8ft). I know comets are abailable up to about a foot to a foot and a half long, i dont know of any other substancialy sized feeders other than those. Any ideas?

I'd start on google with a search something like
wholesale aquarium fish dealers usa -salt -supplies
the -salt -supplies weeds out results that contain those two words.
Because I don't think you are looking for salt water fish, nor supplies
but of course you can tweak the search string
for instance if you wanted to include betta, then the search would be
wholesale aquarium fish usa +betta
or something like that
hope this helps

Editing to add:
maybe try searching for
breeder aquarium fish Connecticut -salt
as another possible search, to swap a few words

Hey guys, so I recently brought her some larger comets and as soon as I put them in she came out and grabbed one! I saw the strike and initial wrap, then recorded this!
