    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'm taking both Abbott and Costello to the vet tomorrow...Costello is still not eating like he should but he is eating and pooping..Abbott now has developed loose poop but that could have been me soaking his reptipellets in grape juice instead of the usual apple by mistake. Anyway...it's still cold here. Someone suggested warming rice in a sock..that will get them there but coming home if I have the heat in the car turned way up they should be OK I hope. I was planning on using a small cat carrier divided because they don't get along. Any suggestions on how to keep the warm and will the cat carrier be OK or should I use a plastic tub.
Thanks
Alexa

I put mine in either plastic tubs or cardboard boxes (I re-use styro lined shipping boxes), and then fill a 20 oz pop bottle with very warm water, wrapped in a dry washcloth to put in with them for warmth. Just make sure the bottles are placed so they won't roll around. The water bottles stay warm for quite awhile, and as long as you have the heat going in the car, they should be fine. The cat carrier is going to be drafty, and won't hold in the heat very well.

For vet visits I use rubbermaid shoe boxes or sweater boxes, depending on who I'm transporting that day. I take a ziplock bag filled with rice or a rice filled "beanbag", nuke it til its warm, but not really hot, drop it in a sock and I'm good to go. It keeps them nice and toasty.

Thanks so much. They are calling for snow again tomorrow so it will be cold. I fixed up a plastic container with a divider so both can be in the same one. I'll give the rice thing a try and put it under the towel i have in the bottom...I have some small water bottles I can fill with hot water. Thanks so much for the suggestions.
