In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have Two Amano shrimp, and Five ( i believe, the others are quite tiny and i cant find them all at one time!) Cherry Red Shrimp

There are also two Cloud Minnows/Tetras whatever you wanna call them. theyre small and stay small

I set this tank up a few weeks ago and im really enjoying them!

Simple Five Gallon setup with a thermometer and a sponge filter ( so as not to suck up the small shrimps, and the Cherry Shrimps babies if they do end up having them!) and lots of live plants for everyone to hide in.

I originally had one shrimp.. it was sitting in an unfiltered tank for about two years, i finally decided that i should probably get it some friends, and a nicer larger tank with nicer plantings. I started researching what kind of shrimp were out there and stumbled upon some pretty interesting sites. *sigh* another addiction in the makings! So now i have a bunch of cute little shrimps that im learning with. Id like to eventually get into keeping Crystal Red Shrimps in the higher gradings.

Plants:
Java moss, Marimo Moss Ball, Duckweed, Bleheri and two other freshwater plants that i forget the name of. ( the far back left ones, and the front bottom left)

Have you seen the Crystal Red Shrimp? if you look at the higher grades, some of them can be really really pretty! ( there are always new Freshwater shrimp being imported too! so there are other colors i just dont want to pay 15 bucks a shrimp... not yet) :)

Don't let fish and wildlife catch you with white cloud mountain minnows. They take posession of prohibited aquatic species much more seriously than people who hop across the border for savs.

If they want to bother me about two minnows, well then i suppose ill just have to deal with the consequences if and when they ever do happen :shrug01:

I also looked just now, at whatever very minimal info is available online at species that can be kept, It mentions Two types of minnows, but not the one i have. All Aquarium trade fish that are rare, are exempt from needing any sort of permit. Feel free to point out where if you feel you must.

Unless you are talking about prohibited in Massachusetts (where Alicia is from) I can't see how they take it very seriously. They are listed on every single wholesale sheet I get. It wouldn't be too difficult to find the guilty party either. Just go into any aquarium shop and you will find them by the hundreds.

I was talking about Massachusetts.

Because the white cloud mountain minnows are a high altitude species, they're considered capable of breeding in local waterways and are considered to be a potential threat to native species. While Alicia found it absurd that a half inch fish would be considered a threat, it's important to remember that any introduced species falls outside of the natural instrinctive responses of both predator and prey species and can easily supplant species that fill similar ecological niches. White clouds would be less likely to be eaten by smaller native predatory species but would adapt well themselves to that aquatic insect larve chowing spot.

Thanks for the clarification, I figured you were talking about a state issue but with the way things are going nowdays with all the bans etc. you can never be too sure. Still, in many instances you can see where the ounce of prevention thing is not a bad idea. I can't tell you how many times I have had people come into my store and tell me that they have released non-native species in local rivers or lakes.
