• Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Just FYI for everyone, since I found out the hard way.

UPS no longer guarantees their "Next Day Air" packages before 10:30am. Their new cut off time is 12:00pm, and that time is not guaranteed everywhere. In fact, many locations are just guaranteed by "the end of the day."

So keep that in mind with packaging and hot and cool packs! "The end of the day" is a lot longer in a box!

Dan

If you are basing this on one shipment rather than a statement of policy from UPS, you may be in error. There have always been certain locations that were guaranteed by 12:00 or end of day depending on how remote they are.

What are you basing this assumption on?

Found this on the UPS website-- "Delivery Commitment Next business day delivery by 10:30 a.m., 12:00 noon, or end of day, depending on destination "

It looks like they will still offer delivery by 10:30am!

I spoke with a UPS employee today, and they said that 12:00pm is the now the normal cut off time. Perhaps they still offer 10:30am guarantees in certain places. I typed in several zip-codes and got different outcomes for all of them. It's just something to keep in mind, because I told my customer that it should have been there by 10:30am, and when he waited all day and it came at 7pm, UPS could not offer a refund. It not only could be a potential inconvenience for the receiver, but could be harmful to the animal if it is sitting in a box for an extra 8 hours without the proper precautions. I'm not trying to bash UPS, just bringing the new policy to light.

You can check to see what time UPS guarantees the package if you do one of those "calculate time and charges" quotes on their website.

LOL...UPS isnt a company to trust...they have soooooo MANY loopholes to screw you its not funny at all....FEDEX baby...they are quick to refund if they blow the delivery promise even by 15 mins! I love them and never had a problem unlke UPS where policy is not very strict...

RB - full name is required to post on the BOI.

Actually, that isn't really a problem, as this thread doesn't belong on the BOI and is being moved to the Shipping forum.

FedEx has just as many loopholes as UPS. I've never had either refund a late shipment, they usually just blame the weather even if there's been none.

I've never had a problem with Fed Ex that wasn't either out of their control and/or quickly and professionally resolved and I've shipped and received hundreds of geckos through them.
