• Responding to email notices you receive.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I was offered this baby yesterday. The person had hit it with the mower earlier this year. But she did take it to the vet. The shell has healed well, but still having issues with her eyes. The vet said she may never gain full eye sight again. I am administering the eye drops that she got from the vet. She eats fine, and seems to have perfect motor skills. I have her indoors as to better keep an eye on her and make sure she is eating. Also she is a little small to be in my outdoor enclosure. Something may get her. She seems to have a depth perception issue.

Her eyes are closed here, but they do open.

I dont have any current photos, but she is doing fine. She seems to have a depth perception issue, but other than that, she is fine. She eats like normal, and motor functions are Ok as well. She is one lucky turtle! I wish I had photos of when her shell was in 2 seperate pieces. The vet did a wonderful job!

She is one lucky little turtle. Thank you for your update. I took on a 3 toed myself back in January.

I thought I would post a few new photos along with an update. She is doing fine. She has some perm. damage to her eyesight. In the first photo, you can see where the shell was split in two.

I received a second baby that was taken away (scared off by hunter) from a raccoon. It had started chewing on one of its front legs. The leg has healed over now. I just received her and have not really had time to observe it too much. I set up a larger bin for them both tonight. I will feed them seperately in a different enclosure (both ate a piece of earthworm tonight). I am going to add a few pill bugs to the larger enclosure in case they do want an extra snack between meals.

I have an unter tank eater on one end, as well as 75w from above during the day.

I continue to be amazed with this turtle. Here she is eating some tomatos.

Here is a photo of when I first got her, shortly after coming home from the vet.

Today I found the rescue a new home. The new owner drove almost 3 hours to come and get her. I am glad to know she is still in good hands. Thanks for all the support everyone! It was a very rewarding time.
