I need to order some caging for two pythons that I have, a 2006 male jungle carpet python and a 2001 dwarf female reticulated python.
right now I have the carpet python in a ball rack, he's on the small side for a carpet python and he's doing quite well in it. I have heard that carpets don't do well in racks in the long run and develop respiratory issues so I'd like to move him into a cage.
The reticulated python is 9 feet, about 20 pounds, and is currently in a 40 gallon tank. I think she needs a little more space to move around, and I'd like to order the cages together to get it out of the way in one fell swoop.
I'm not sure of the most appropriate sizes, does anyone have some recommendations?
Also, is belly heat the best option if I want to stack them? I assume if I have belly heat I'll need to have a thermostat for each cage?
Thanks in advance!
