In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Length of guarantees?

One other point I'd like to make.

I'm not a vet, but this is the first time I've ever heard of anything like "the hemi penes were folded over".

I'd have to wonder if it was a female and an unexperienced vet perforated them causing it to probe male.
Unfortunately a good many vets have little or no direct experience with reptiles.
I'm not saying this is what happened, I'm just saying "folded over hemi penes" is not a condition I've ever heard of

Yep, my thoughts exactly. the majority of vets just dont have experience dealing with herps of any type.

Never seen it happen myself, but i've heard of things like this happening. To explain further, here's what Doug Mader, DVM has to say about cloacal probing in Reptile Medicine and Surgery:

"The ability to insert the probe in the tail base of some females is the result of the presece of a pair of blind diverticula. These diverticula, when present, are shorter in depth and smaller in diameter than hemipenes. A properly sized probe (versus one that is too small) allows the probe to enter the inverted hemipenes but reduces its ability to enter the diverticula of females. Common species in which these diverticula are well-developed an misidentification of sex is therefore common include the Monitors (Varanus spp.) and the Blood Python."

So I think Clay could be on the right track. They could have used a probe that's way too small and therefore entered one of these "diverticula".

I think one would have to use a LOT of force with any blunt-tipped probe to actually perforate a female snake. Something maybe like, trying to force a spoon through a piece of cardboard. Possible, but it takes a good amount of force Probing is supposed to be gentle when done correctly. Ouch, that hurts just thinking about it.

I' V NEVER HEARD OD SOMETHING LIKE THAT EITHER. BUT I DO HAVE 2 FRIENDS THAT ARE SPECIALISTS IN HERPS AND COULD ASK THEM IF THEY HAVE EVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING.

AS FOR YOUR GUARANTEE ISSUE I STILL THINK YOU SHOULD BE IN THE CLEAR. IT WOULD BE MOSTLY UP TO YOU NOW WITH AN ETHICAL AND JUST YOUR OWN JUDGMENT. ON HOW MUCH DO YOU VALUE THIS CUSTOMER TO EITHER GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT OR NOT TO.

Well, you are giving me ideas on how to amend my guarantees. <lol> To answer, no--they would have to return the animal in GOOD HEALTH to receive a refund/exchange. I'll be adding that part in today.

Seems to be a big box store mentality or mind set where you can return anything in any condition for a refund. its a different story when were talking about live animals.

I would not have a problem making my mistake right if indeed it was a missexed BP...even 3 years later to the original buyer.

I think that the resale of the BP and injury removes any options of a replacement BP.
