Why bother starting this thread if you don't want to deal with questions? If you're "merely the messenger", maybe you should have let somebody else handle the job. Telling members to go to another site to read the story is pretty lame, especially if these are truly bad people.

GENESIS frogs are ecologically sustainable, totally harmless, SAFE® captive bred pet frogs having superior combinative genetics originating from same species, dissimilar parents of thoroughbred like quality. These pets replace the disruptive, and often destructive, harvest and importation of rare, wild caught or yet undiscovered, poison dart frogs. Every purchase of a captive bred frog is a conscious decision to support conservation and preservation efforts for the wild dart frog habitats and the frogs that live there before they become endangered. On that basis, and the fact dendrobates, including Tinctorius, Auratus, and Leucomelas are naturally polymorphic in identity and behavior, their offspring of the species not only vary in color and pattern depending on the mated pair of parents, where they are located, found, or moved, we should never forget they often interbreed on their own.

Still, breeding designer frogs not only requires a strong working familiarity with breeding captive dart frogs, and we surely have that in our 6,000+ offspring and ourMated Pairsphilosophy, there should be a serious commitment to observation during the courting of the parents as well as egg production, fertilization, time to morph, and all other factors associated with a successful dart frog breeding program. Like all polymorphic species, the offspring of dendrobates will range in color and pattern, with the most dominant traits of each parent being represented. In this way, the frog offspring should exhibit the best (most dominant traits) of both parents. Accordingly, all designers (i.e., breeders) should also give much consideration to the offspring that may be produced, and stay within species, e.g., tinctorius x tinctorius, auratus x auratus, etc.

When you do, the results will be stunning as seen in the gallery photos (to be added). No doubt, each and every one of our designer offspring is truly hardy, bold, energetic, and demonstrates superior athletic ability. Even at a young age, they can live harmoniously with larger frogs. Perhaps more importantly, we have proven these are not hybrids–they breed and reproduce normally. Thus, what initially began as phenotype observational studies to prove the definition of polymorphism is as explained in theFoundationsection and by the leading scientists in the field, and experts out in the field, has matured into a fun new polymorphic dart frog breeding program.

Each and every colorful, ornamental, pet frog is captive bred, raised by us, the breeder/designer in the U.S.A. Ornamental Frogs are truly works of art. Still, even though these frogs may not exist in the wild, they are the rarest pet frogs in the world and just plain mega-cool pets! So, why would anyone ever want to remove these frogs from any wild rain forest jungle if discovered when they are available as captive bred, SAFE® dart frog pets that are much healthier and live longer? As a purchaser of one of these amazing dart frog pets, you will not only enjoy the majesty of the frog, but you will help thwart the pillaging of the rain forests for wild caught frogs. How? Take away demand and the supply dries up too. (Also consider the German websitesTinctorius.ch and their morph guide. It is an excellent pictorial source of frogs the US has never seen, and yet some of those pictured we have bred in captivity here at US Dart Frog.)

The public awareness of the importance of leaving frog specimens in their natural habitats undisturbed, but for purely scientific and discovery purposes, is fundamental to furthering the conservation of the wild counterparts and ancestors of these designer frogs and their habitats. With that said, some of the proceeds of each GENESIS frog we sell will also go towards funding research projects in the frogs’ native rainforest habitat, in hopes of discovering more about these amazing creatures, while further evidencing the dwindling numbers of frogs in the wild and underscoring the need for captive bred designer frogs as the responsible alternative to wild caught animals. This multi-level approach insures education is part of the equation and the scientific theory is backed up with real study and observation to properly conserve and prove the need for conservation and ecology.

Now to be in a hobby for 2 years...and nobody will sell them any animals knowing who they are. It would be pretty hard to breed to the point of 6,000 frogs. Also hard to believe this because they couldn't fill an order for 10 frogs that I called and asked for.

More facts will be posted as I have time revealing a very real need for a bad guy thread.

Is your primary complaint that they are inaccurately labeled or is your primary complaint that they are crosses?

If they are inaccurately labeled, then that is valid as a gap in seller ethics.

If they are accurately labeled as crosses, then there is no gap in seller ethics.

They are simply offering a product that is not for you as a prospective buyer. Unless they are repatriating them into wild frog populations people are wishing to conserve, it does not actually matter. If it does reduce collection pressure, that may serve to provide an atypical avenue for conservation. It does not prevent you from doing as much work as you might like to in order for you to support your conservation-based causes.

There is room for many opinions and many keeping arrangements and any person solely in one camp need not feel pressured to yield to the other and can respectfully disagree if they are willing to commit to that kind of consideration for the existence of multiple stances and perspectives. I personally keep pure animals, intergrades, and hybrids. There is no force that mandates it must be all of one practice or all of another in exclusion. We lose a bit more of what we have every day. Some folks try to minimize loss as their primary objective. Some folks try to create gain as their primary objective. Some folks have and work towards both objectives without conflict. There is room for all if all let it have room.

Why the heck if you had ethical and moral concerns about breeding hybrids did you place a order to NOT be filled??
