I think that's all been said before Kevin. I'm in touch with the same person who found him currently. Thanks for your concern

Brakes For Snakes
It's awesome that you are trying to do right by your snake but as others have mentioned it's most likely illegal to return to the wild but more importantly it's simply unethical because this snake could potentially introduce something to other animals.

It appears that captive hatched and/or raised snakes can actually do quite well when released into the wild.

Thanks for the link Rich.
FWC have CB species that are being reintroduced in Florida.
If you go to the website they have several species they are working with.
The one "bad" thing with snakes is that wild colonies have pheromone trails that are used by the collective to navigate, particularly terrestrial forms. If a species is reintroduced into an area that has little or no population this can make it difficult for them to find safe shelter, adequate food and other animals for procreation.
If the Corn snake is released back where it was collected and this "infrastructure" is still in place there is a good chance it will readjust. Instinct is a powerful thing and reintroduced snakes have survived even when released back into an extrepated colony local. As far as the introduction of desease, seems he has done due diligence to assure there is low risk. Truth be told, the snake is more at risk from wild pathogens since it has been free of them in captivity and it may have a lowered tolerance to them.

If you really care for him, you will keep him or rehome him, not release him into the wild, which will 100% be a death sentence.
