Natural News
August 3, 2011

(NaturalNews) This is a NaturalNews exclusive breaking news report. Please credit NaturalNews.com. A multi-agency SWAT-style armed raid was conducted this morning by helmet-wearing, gun-carrying enforcement agents from the LA County Sheriff’s Office, the FDA, the Dept. of Agriculture and the CDC (Centers for Disease Control).

Rawesome Foods, a private buying club offering wholesome, natural raw milk and raw cheese products (among other wholesome foods) is founded by James Stewart, a pioneer in bringing wholesome raw foods directly to consumers through a buying club. James was followed from his private residence by law enforcement, and when he entered his store, the raid was launched.

Law enforcement demanded that all customers (members) of the store vacate the premises, then they demanded to know how much cash James had at the store. When James explained the amount of cash he had at the store — which is used to purchase product for selling there — agents demanded to know why he had such an amount of cash and where it came from.

James was handcuffed, was NEVER read his rights and was stuffed into an UNMARKED car. While agents said they would leave behind a warrant, no one has yet had any opportunity to even see if such a warrant exists or if it is a complete warrant.

I haven't been able to see the videos, but I think I get the general gist. Trouble is, this is what results from an overly litigatious (spp?) society - if an authority wasn't getting sued every time someone picked up a bug or put on a pound (or heard voices in their heads...), it wouldn't be interested in regulating every piece of food that crossed people's lips.

Evil egg and goat farmer was targeted today.
He is located about 40 minutes from me. So glad that this overly armed joint task force saved me and my family from this dangerous food terrorist.

Just Look at this guy and his seedy little farm.

Here's background on Healthy Family Farms which was also targeted in the raid:

Healthy Family Farms in Santa Paula, California:

"Healthy Family Farms is a sustainable, pasture-based farming operation. We raise all our livestock on pasture. We raise all of our animals from birth. We do not feed any of our animals soy, choosing instead to feed animals as they are designed to be fed. This results in healthy, sturdy animals needing no hormones, antibiotics, or other artificial "enhancements." We harvest our animals humanely by hand before they are delivered to the farmers markets. We never freeze our products. In addition to farmer's markets sales, we have an active CSA, which offers discounts to our valued members."

I don't even use raw milk but let me tell you, If you let government dictate what you eat then you have lost a very basic natural right. If people don't start to stand up more you will see your home gardens up on the regulation chopping block.

I lived in Ohio for a year or two when I was younger. I still remember the deliciousness of whole raw milk from Young's dairy.

I can't figure 100% the other side. It is more than health, although there has always been the point that tax money could possibly be at risk if the consumers did not have health insurance and there was a sudden health issue. Is this a valid issue for the state? I don't know. The health and welfare of citizens have been a state responsibility for some time.

It might be possible to initiate a move to have the state withdraw some of its control and right now would be the time to do that because states are looking for ways to cut expenses. People want to be free to make choices, but if those choices lead to injury or serious illness, sometimes individuals will go to city and county emergency rooms and have no way to pay for expensive medical care so the taxpapers pay.

Given the unnecessary drawn guns in the raid, there are pieces of the puzzle missing. The 'mislabelled cheese' charges just don't rise to the level of an armed confrontation.

There has to be more going on in this particular deal.

When they did the raid on the food co-op last year they did the same thing.
Also, at food co-op in Ohio a couple of years ago.

Quote:
On the morning of December 1, 2008, law enforcement officers forcefully entered the Stowers' residence without first announcing they were police or stating the purpose of the visit. With guns drawn, they swiftly and immediately moved to the upstairs of the home, where ten children were in the middle of a home-schooling lesson. Officers then moved Jacqueline Stowers and her children to their living room, where they were held for more than six hours.

There has never been a complaint filed against Manna Storehouse or the Stowers related to the quality or healthfulness of the food distributed through the co-op.

Also, raw milk products are legal in this state but the producers of such are still targeted at times.

In all the food raids mentioned here, there has never been a customer complaint or health problem.
