Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Ok the correct answer is 144,
The number sequence is as follows
1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144
Or if you look each number is derived by adding the previous two numbers.

I'm going to continue with the math scenario. My boyfriend asked me this question not too long ago, here goes
you have a circular track that is one mile long. You go around the first lap at exactly 30 mph, how fast do you have to go on the second lap to average 60 mph?

I am most likely way over thinking this and going to make myself look very dumb(wont be the first time and certainly not the last). But if the track is exactly one mile and you did 30mph that means it took you 2 minutes to get around the track. To me in order to average 60mph in two miles that means you have 2 minutes to complete the task at two miles to acheive that. With you already using the full two mintues for the first lap, it cannot be done. Now even to me, who came up with this it makes no sense, but hell why not try and make myself look dumb, especially considering time was never mentioned. This is just the f'd up way my brain thinks. First looking at the question I would have said 90, because logically 90 + 30 = 120 / 2 = 60, but for some reason that didnt strike me as correct. Well anyway mow that everything thinks I have completely lost it I will get out of here.

I never thought of it like that, but after seeing your response and going back and reading the question, it is almost to ambiguous. It doesnt say whether it is the average for both laps or just the second. If it is just the second you solved it, but it is not clearly stated, so who knows. We will have to wait and see. Dan M.
