Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Heh heh heh.
The point you made was dead on though, anyone who lacks the common sense to check an easy, avaliable authority really shouldn't be dealing with anything live much less something that can cause them to die (Or lose fingers).
I have enough to worry about as a keeper with people getting burms, 'condas, rocks and 'tics with no idea how to care for them much less hots. It only takes one or two really stupid people to ruin it for the rest of us who actually know what we're doing, too many communities seem ready to pass laws restricting what you're allowed to own as it stands now, people going and hurting themselves just makes it worse.

Seamus.... see, that's why I believe in being "PRO-DEATH"! I believe in Euthanasia, Assisted Suicide, Death Penalty, Regular Suicide.... basically, anything that will "thin out the herd"!
You want to jump off a building into a bonfire? Hang on, and I'll get the Marshmallows! You want to swallow a ton of pills, here's your water! You want to free-handle HOTS? What color roses do you want on your casket? You want to chase a quarter down the double yellow line?? Enjoy yourself!! spam_
The only thing that really gets me hyper is.... STUPIDITY! I can deal with most everything else, but that....
If people would just sit down and THINK about what they're doing BEFORE they do it.... we'd ALL have a lot less grief.... If not.... pick one of the options above, and leave the rest of us alone!

Seamus and Neil,
You were both correct.
"Anti-venin" although of French origin (venin is the French word for venom) is a term of widespread use in the US (http://halo-productions.com/healer/Books/venin.html). Anti-venom is used as well (http://www.bnmgroup.com/vaccines.htm).
Best regards

It's official now. I have succeeded in opening myself up to the "Wrath of Neil" <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' '>
Actually, I haven't ordered ANYTHING yet. I was just trying to get a "feel" for what would be needed. I have received conflicting answers when I called the aiport and the DEP for my state (which handles the permits).
I just wanted to get as much info and try to figure out what was needed BEFORE I even think about ordering anything.
Sorry for posting a stupid question. I should have gone into more detail about why I posted it in the first place.

Now, Steve.... you see what PERCEPTION can do??? After I read your first post above.... I honestly thought you were a 12 year old kid because of your very short question? Only children will type like that! Now, you SEEM to be a lot older! If you start an inquiry thread, at least have the courtesy to type a rational paragraph and not just a sentence or two?? Tell us what you're looking to accomplish, tell us what your intentions are, tell us about YOU, so we KNOW who and what we're dealing with?? You're asking for OUR help.... we find it a lot easier to help someone we "know", then it is to help a "stranger".... let us get to know you by your question and the way you TYPE that question???.... Our answers will be a LOT different between a child and an adult.... why make it difficult to figure out??
But, you're absolutely correct.... when I see questions like that, and perceiving what I did.... you're DARN RIGHT I would go ballistic on a KID trying to pick up HOTS at an airport!! You might as well just hand the kid a LOADED GUN! Now that I realize you're NOT a kid.... my answer would have been a LOT different and a LOT more sedate.... I hope you can see the difference??
With that in mind.... I apologize for berating you when I had the wrong impression of who I was dealing with....

Not a problem <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' '>
I can see where the briefness of my original post would cause confusion. Once I re-read it, I realized it was terribly written and I opened myself up to look like I was incompetent. I should have explained up front that I was trying to get some clarification of what was needed in the event I do make a trip to the airport. Once again, I apologize for the confusion.
On another note, I wish I was still 12. Boy that was a long time ago. <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' '> Now I really feel old.

There ya go, Steve.... now you're cooking with gas! lol
Of course.... my FIRST answer still stands.... your best bet would be to get in touch with your local fish and game and call the airport and ask questions.... try going to their website, if there is one, call other local petshops in the area and see if THEY pick stuff up at the airport, and see what they say? There are many avenues of information out there that would do you a world more good than asking people from different States.... this is something you DON'T want to make a mistake about.... ya know what I mean??

Awwwww, c'mon Neil, everyone should experience the pleasure of shipping six full grown, wild caught, irate Ophiophagus hannah in an unmarked plastic thirty gallon garbage can with two peices of duct tape holding the lid on.
It's a very short pleasure... and not so much "pleasure" as it is "Painful cramping death after an intense and sudden epiphany that you really shouldn't have opened that lid" and people do only tend to experience it once without much afterwards...
Hmmm. Maybe doing it right is a better idea.
Sorry about the confusion and strength of my own responses Steve.
