Oh how neat. Wonder what the chances of this happening again in this bloodline?? How long have you had the parents of this snake and how many times have they laid eggs? I just wondered....

Just wondering, does this mean you have to feed it twice as much, just to be on the equal side? What if one head wants to go one way and the other wants to go the other way? Hmmm... this is very interesting.

That is interesting! The split goes down far enough that it looks as if they can move their head independently.

I have heard of 2 headed snakes fighing over food. Or I should say, the one that wasn't fed scented the prey on the head that did eat...and tried to eat the other head. I'm not sure how much truth there is to that.

From what I've read, there is nothing genetic about double heads, I know someone who produced a 2 headed snake from a pair of rosies that had been breeding for 7 consecutive years.
Also, there usually seems to be a dominant head, and the only thing doubled in the components of the head. Extra neck vertabrae shooting off the spinal coloumn, and varying distances. The survivors have enough space to move their heads independantly.
It looks amazing Rich, should be fun as an adult. Thats quite a unique thing you have there.
