Well I just got back from the vet. I was a great experience. I am so lucky to have a vet that is so experienced with herps near by. I felt a lot better after he told me he kept 6 carpet pythons himself as well as many other herps (retics, balls, monitors, ect.) They did a fecal and as I expected it was too dry to get conclusive results. I need to bring in another sample and they will perform the test as soon as it is brought in. He told me how to perform a fecal which was great. Not that I'll trust my own results until I am completely certain. If over the next couple of years I'm 100% in agreement with the vet then I will start to trust myself. He gave me panacur and flagyl so that if he is not there when they perform the fecal and it comes back positive I can start treatment immediately. Well worth the money.

Flagellates are pretty easy to pick out (little swimmers), but identifying the various worms and ova is another thing entirely...and identification is the key to proper treatment.
Glad to hear things went well...the fresher the sample the better.

Definately agree it will be some time before I can tell one parasitic worm ovum from another.
