Reptile relief is for treating the animal itself. Same with the olive oil mentioned above. You
don't want to use Provent-A-Mite (PAM) on the animal. (or equate for that matter) It is for treating enclosures, and substrates. Typically used for reptile mites. I use it monthly and just wipe down the outside of the cage with it sprayed into a rag. NO mites. Prevention goes a long ways.
In your case, you just need to treat the substrate with equate or PAM, let it air out well for a couple hours, and put in a clean enclosure. You can use it on wood decor too if you want. I use the reptile relief on decor myself. Thing with reptile relief is it dehydrates, and it will also dry up an egg. But it smells like crap for a while.
