Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

I use extreme caution when handling any of my reptiles, and have not been bit by anything other than my neighbors dog, my house cat, or my neighbor. What's all this nonsense about Reptile bites???

Ok, I KNOW that one had to hurt worse than mine. I also know, from experience, that shoot yeah they have that much bite force! Equate it, on a much smaller level, of the force behind a gator's jaw--same theory.
I feel for ya, Richard. That's gonna be a little sore for a while.

I guess I'm lucky in that I've never been nailed by my snakes even when by all rights I should've been (IE holding mice then my kingsnake or my RT boa.) I was nailed numerous times by my Colombian Gold and Black Tegu during taming and he'll still nail me if I move too fast. I got more scars that week then the rest of my life combined . Also my box turtle is very protective of his food. Worst bite hands down I hate to say came from my Chilean Rose haired Tarantula. I had her out and she was her usual calm self. So slowly that I wasn't even sure what she was doing her fangs came out. Then she scraped them across my hand a couple times until they caught on a wrinkle. And then she dug in... Imagine very carefully trying to pry a spider with a six in diameter leg span's fangs out of your hand with a pencil while saying, very calmly "Sweetheart, Its not nice to bite." Also trying not to hurt the spider. Also not a dry bite.

I've been bit plenty of times. Mostly a feeding response by Ball pythons. Once a Columbian Tegu thought I was in her house and I got a frightening scrape as I dodged that one. I have a couple horny male Western Hognose, beleive it or not, that get crazy sometimes and lunge it's kinda funny really. But I've taken bites from my Blood pythons that are noteworthy. When my Borneo, Cain, was a juvy he was like a machine gun, just bite after bite of pure tenacity. My wife has better scars than me.

Bitten by almost everything
Everything except venomous has gotten me.
Most painful bites were from Green Anacondas, holding and grinding and chewing.
Most annoying bites are from anything small that refuses to stop striking.
Scariest, 18' overweight Burmese Python on the ankle (with boots) not knowing how far it would go to finish the job.
Most fun, probably small gators, 3-4 feet. Doesn't hurt too bad, and they are so determined.
Second most painful, 4' Nile Monitor jumping and grabbing my thumb and rolling like a Croc while hanging.
Most recent, baby House Snakes.
Most recent that hurt and bled, a very unhappy adult WC Dotted House Snake.
Bites I feared most and avoided at all costs were of course venomous, and Alligator Snapping turtles.
Not a reptile, but adult Lynx bites HURT.
I'd love to make a full list of every species I can remember biting me, but it would take hours. All that said, I can honestly say that the animal I have been bitten by the most, more than any other and with more aggression... The one who has caused the most bleeding and smallest reaction from witnesses...Without a doubt...
COCKER SPANIELS. Shelter work had its ups and downs.

Finally! Someone I can sympathize with!
I have to agree on the Cocker Spaniel part. But I also have to add Shih Tsu and Chihuahua. Those little suckers may not be very big, but man are they ever persistent... sort of like that baby corn...
