One of the really annoying things about the computer and these types of forums is that EVERYONE gets to be 6'4' and 250lbs.  I think it's totally hilarious that people, who don't know each other, won't do business with each other, and couldn't pick each other out of a crowd if their lives depended on it, start talking about how tough they are and how sorry everyone else is going to be at the next big reptile show.  Yeah.  Right.  Whatever.

I was talking to Evan Stahl about this at the Tinley Park show this past weekend, and we had a pretty good laugh about the "Conan of the Computer" syndrome.  Me?  Oh, I'm a creampuff!

Other &nbsp;than Dana's name being at the top of the post, I did not refer to her at all. &nbsp;I doubt she took any offense. &nbsp;I was answering a comment she made in the first paragraph of my post

I have tried for a couple days, very hard to not touch this topic. I can't leave it alone after some of the comments Gilbert has made here.

Gilbert APPROACHED ME with a VERY substanital dollar value trade. If I remember correctly it was $12,000 or $14,000 we were discussing. He repeated put together lists of my animals to go against lists of his animals to work out a trade. In a period of less than a week he changed his mind about 5 times. I did not get upset because we spent hours on the phone and he is just a really super guy.

So finally, I did get upset when after he told me that we had a deal, 100% done, I saw the animals listed on Kingsnake.com. I told him that I was upset and he told me that he was really sorry and that he just really didn't know what he wanted to do. At this point I apologized and told him that I really enjoyed talking with him and thought he was a super guy but that his indecision lost me many large sales on the animals that he had now decided he no longer wanted and that I would be happy to keep in touch but chose to not do business with him.

He then emailed me offering a couple other trades. I declined. Repeating my above comments.

At this point, he asked me for a reference to deal with other people. I nicely told him that I was not able to be a business reference as I have never had a transaction with him. He then got nasty and sent me a threatening email. I told him that I was sorry but was not going to tell other people that he was great to deal with and that in fact, he was lucky that I did not tell them he was a pain to deal with.

I then blocked his email. I did not hear from him again until he posted something on a thread about me that I was a good guy. And Gilbert, I really do appreciate that, but the same goes for me that goes for you. How can you recommend doing business with me when you never have?

The reason that I am posting here now is because of a comment that Gilbert made that I take as VERY OFFENSIVE!

"I don't have to sale an animal to live. I make my money elsewhere. Therefore, I feel I can give better guarentees and stand behind my animals no matter what."

I tell you what Gilbert. I DO make my living producing and selling animals. That is all that I do. I have done this for 15 years now. And I am willing to bet anything that after I work 25-28 days a month on average with my animals for 15-20 hours a day that I am much more aware of my animals and can offer much more to my customer. &nbsp;I also find it funny that you would insult Joe Dembinski (who is a super guy by the way) by labeling him an animal peddler when all that you have to sell you bought! You are not selling anything you produced! All of the Hondurans that you committed to taking and left me hanging on, I PRODUCED HERE.

And I realize that as you have done to every other person here, you will probably make a personal attack on me here, so I guess I will end by reminding you that you called around to a bunch of important people in this industry to get references on me before we dealt and they all gave you excellent reviews of transactions with me and yet you still jerked me around and backed out of all of our deals.

I have stated before and do again that I am not a snake person. &nbsp;I am also not a hypocrite. &nbsp;I once posted in the Dan Bifield threat that if he simply admitted his fault and said he was sorry and tried to bring things on the level, that he would have a chance at saving a sliver of reputation. &nbsp;In the beginning of this thread, I lost some respect for Gilbert's way of doing business as a purchaser. &nbsp;Somewhere around page 2-3 I bgan to (for some reason) think that Gilbert was getting burned more than necessary. &nbsp;That all changed with the childish antics. &nbsp;Here now, though, he is admitting that he was being childish and has apologized for it. &nbsp;

Before this thread, I accorded Gilbert as much respect with regards to what he said as I do anyone on this board. &nbsp;After this, I will accord him less respect than I did, but much more so than if he had not apologized for his responses. &nbsp;

Gilbert, I'm sure a lot of people lost respect for you due to the manner in which you responded before. &nbsp;Your apology may not mean something to everyone, nor am I completely sure that I buy into it, hook, line, and sinker, but it is a start, and it did not go unnoticed. &nbsp;I hope you continue in this more professional manner, and take your lumps when you've got them coming.

If anyone feels I missed something, or that this assesment is in error, please let me know.

I got upset and forgot, Darin, you are so right. It was good to talk with you even though we talked about such lame people! I guess that you could pick me out of crowd at a show if you saw the 5' banner above my booth or the shirt I wear with my name on it! Just giving you a hard time. oh, and I'm only 6' but unfortunately pushing 240 lbs! Evan Stahl

I am sorry you feel that way Bill. &nbsp;I will infact be at that show. &nbsp;I will not bring anything to you. &nbsp;If you feel you have something to do. &nbsp;Then by all means do it. &nbsp;I will in trun email you a pic of me.

Evan, You have the right to say everyhting you did. &nbsp;I changed my mind alot. &nbsp;I still think despite the fact you spoke of me the way you did. &nbsp;That you are a good guy. &nbsp;If you knew me personally you would also feel different.
