Help identifying

Was hoping someone may be able to help identify this little guy. My neighbors showed him to my hubby and he brought him home to show me. Hes super tiny! You can't really see in the pics but he has what appears to be a cpl brighter speckles on his back. I'm located in central Michigan if that helps at all

That's a "Red Eft" which is the juvenile stage of the "Eastern Newt".

It's not just the juvenile stage. Eastern red-spotted newts can freely switch between terrestrial "eft" forms and their aquatic "newt" form even as adults. But, judging from its small size, it probably is a juvenile.

Thanks guys! We have them crawling around like crazy and my daughter wanted to bring him home to show daddy lol. He's the cutest little thing!
