Venomous and Non (many photos)

I had a friend who was kind enough to let me photograph his venomous and non-venomous collection - a great aid to a project. I enjoy the time very much and learned quite a bit. Just watching some of these animals for some time is quite interesting - they always appear to be evaluating. I thought I would post some of the results (some as there were a lot).

Bitis Gabonica Rhinoceros

Bitis Arietans

Tropidolaemus Wagleri

Trimeresurus Albolabris

B.Schlegelii

Great photographs Shannon! Would you mind sharing what equipment you used? What type of flash? Thanks!

Thank you Kelli! Not a problem.

I used a Canon 30D with a 70mm-200mm f/2.8 and a 50mm f/2.8 macro lens.

The lighting was one strobe with a bounce umbrella and then depending on the situation I also had a silver reflector to bounce some light back in. It was a small area and made for some interesting maneuvering, but worked quite well in the end.

My fav gotta be the second pic of Trimeresurus Albolabris. Great Position and coiling upwards ontop that trunk. Beautiful.
