you may not be able to

" get into hots " in the next 5-7 years with the way things are going. I'm not a " dooms slayer " but with my state of being very lenient of past and now proposed a ban of venomous that passed with out ban but a permit restriction and Florida proposing and looking more seriously into tagging hots in captivity...........see my wave ?

Lots of great info in the book and gave me some new plans on how to set up my non-hot herp room as I upgrade too....

Oh, and the second time I saw that it made me laugh too.

That may be, but just because it may get more restrictive in the future is no reason to keep them NOW, when we live in a rented apartment, inadequate for keeping venomous in a safe manner, without the money or type of insurance necessary to guarantee treatment in case of envenomation. We do fine with our non-venomous GTP, milks, and geckos for now. In 5-7 years we should have a house, the cash to build an appropriate space and caging, and my husband should have been able to find a mentor and practice with some cranky nonvenomous species. I'll take what the future brings when I get there, but now's not the time for us to keep hots.

I don't really think Mike was suggesting rushing into it. More an example of how "The Man" or, legislation is making things increasingly more dificult when it comes to venomous issues.
At least, that's how it came across to me. ??

exactly my point and was of course

not even remotely saying jump into it. Just doing my logical sense of perceiving the future and what it may hold. LOL !
