Two to ID

Justy wondering if someone could clue me in as to what exactly these are. And what is the rule about using scale count and the side line marking to distinguish between ribbon and garter?

ID's

Eastern Plains Garter-19 scale rows in neck region. Ventrals-154 or fewer. Western Plains-21 and 155 or more. western Ribbon-19 scale rows-Ventrals-162-177 Eastern Garter-19 scale rows Ventrals-139-170 males 142-163 females. Red sided garter-19 rows.Ventrals- 170 average.Top pic is a Western Red-Stripe Ribbon. Bottom is a Garter-Eastern most likely. Garters are much heavier bodied. There are differences in other scalation for ID's. Too much to go into now. Thanks Ray G. Hope this helps. Going by the fact you are in Missouri?
