i have talked to some breeders and they suggest cooling there animals for the breeding season, others ive talked to say that they dont bother with cooling, so im wondering what is suggested, what temps to cool to and for how long, thanks

I use night time drops down to about 78 degrees and 8 hours of day light down from 12 hours works good for me but i am in north east where its easier to manipulate that kind of stuff. I would think that if you do light and humidity lower that may work well for you but trial and error is how i have learned over the years. by the way love your babys you have up for sale now.

thank you for your help and for the compliment. i cant really manipulate their lights because they are in a room with other animals that need the lights, i have it at 11 light 13 hours dark, my females seem to respond when i put a male in but i havent noticed anything from the males, perhaps to early for me yet.

Just my two cents, I would do the cooling down phase for sure but the light I dont think matters as much. Mine are all in my bedroom and they breed just fine with how ever I keep the lights. I did perform a test on the temp drop last season. I didn't do the temp drop last year and I only had a few females breed out of 40. Which was fine with me because I needed a break. This season I decided to definitely do the temp drop.

I know a couple of people that have had more luck with out dropping the temps, but dropping temps works for me. Good luck this season.
