For everyone that lives in or near Southeast Michigan, I'm seriously considering founding a new regional herp society for the area. We used to have the GLSH serving this area, but I have found neither hide nor hair of them since I moved back up here. Basically, the closest resource (non-internet) available to herpers in the area is the MSH in Lansing. I'd like to see something available for the local herpers, who maybe don't have the ability or means to travel to Lansing or Grand Rapids for meetings- something that could get the casual newbies to the hobby, as well as the veteran herpers, a bit more involved.

Since this would entail a decent out of pocket expense from me, I'd like to see if there is enough interest before I undertake this project. Right now I'm in the planning stages, and have no plans to proceed forward (given a positive response) until after I return from France this September.

I can be reached via email at kennethharbart@comcast.net. However, I will be out of town from 16-26 July. Anyone who emails me during that time period can expect a prompt reply that folowing weekend.

Regards,
K

Unfortnately, we're closer to Lansing.. &nbsp;but I still think its a wonderful idea for the herpers in that area <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
