First off I am going to say sorry for being so vague but I am trying to contact this person and am waiting to hear back from them.
Well anyways heres the story, please tel me what I can do, if anything.
I purchased 1.1 snakes, 1.0 is eating like a champ and has tripled in size in the past two months. 0.1 has not eaten at all in the past two months and has refused everything I have tried to give her. I have tried to call and talk to them but can never get ahold of them. I did tell other employees my situation with the snake. And they offered suggestions which I tried. Now two months later and no eating she is looking pretty bad. I emailed this person to see if we could resolve this. I have been a good customer and purchased 8 different reptiles from them in the past two years.
My question is what should I expect, if anything, I know it has been two months but what are their obligations if I have been calling and letting them know she was not eating. What would you do in a situation like this?
Any responses are greatly appreciated.

Arboreals of the Rainforest
Did he offer you any sort of gaurantee on the animal? mine is 30 days no if's ands or buts

How soon after you got it did you notify him that it wouldnt eat? spam_after 30 days its a tough call but the harsh fact is it's yours, but I would work with you ever way possible. spam_Before 30 days I give you 2 choices, ship it back for immediate refund or you can assume all risks and work with it

What kind of snakes are they? (reason why some types it is nomral to go off feed for several months)GTP's, ETB's are sometimes notorious hunger strikers, which is what I deal in.

Did you get anything in writing about the health of the animals? spam_I always put it in writing and gaurantee its health for 30 days.

Did he give you the option of returning it when you first contacted them or let you try to resolve the feeding issue on your own with thier advice?if you assumed the responsibility of trying to work with over the return you may be at a loss

This will go a long way in deciding what you should expect out of him and what I would do for you as a seller.

Dan.... at this point, it's pretty obvious that you won't hear from them.... so, just let it go and put your focus on getting the snake back to health....
You didn't say what type of snake it is, but, since you say it hasn't eaten in two months.... and I don't know of a baby corn or King that can go that long.... I'm going to "assume" (foolish me) we're talking about Ball Pythons?? If this is the case.... you've got to get some food down his throat.... if you know how to force feed a snake without hurtng it.... do it.... if not.... try a mixture of Pedialite (just a little) and plain yogurt.... the yogurt will add the needed enzymes the snake has lost.... feed it to him/her with a small turkey-baster.... give him about a mouse-sized portion! I've done it, and it works!
But.... remember one thing.... if you use the turkey-baster method.... when you squirt the mixture down is throat.... after you squirt....DON'T RELEASE YOUR GRIP BEFORE YOU TAKE THE BASTER OUT OF HIS MOUTH!! That's very important or you might suck up his stomach! Ouch! Give it a shot, and let me know how it worked?
Again.... don't bother with the dealer.... unless, of course, we're talking about PIEDBALD Balls!! ...Neil

We are actually talking about a retic. I have tried everything to no avail. I am not going to give up on the dealer yet. We will see. I realize retics can go along time without eating but this baby does not look good at all. I have tried assist feeding but she wanted nothing to with it.
Thanks for the replies guys
I am taking the snake to their place tomm. so I will keep y'all informed

Thanks for all the responses guys,
And yes Kim I do remember you, How are my old Girls doing?
Did you ever get any babies from the big female Cora?
On a worse note the snake in question passed away this morning. But on a happier note I was able to get hold of the store I bought her from and the owner is going to be giving me a call and see if we can't work something out.

Christy's Critters
Sorry to hear of your loss! A few months ago, I bought 2 pueblan milks from R Reptile Ranch, I was told the babies were feeding, not! I was sent 2 non feeders and I paid for healthy babies. The male died less than a 3 weeks after I recieved them, and it took forever to get the female to start eating on her own. It pisses me off that someone will tell you an animal is doing good and eating, and then they send you an animal that has never eaten. R Reptile Ranch went out of business and I couldn't contact them about it, so I lost out on $40 and have a female that will probably never be big or healthy enough to breed. If dealers would be more honest, it would save alot of headaches and heartaches. I put alot of time into caring for the sickly pueblan, and it was heartbreaking to watch him slowly die Dishonest sellers don't care about others though, as long as they can make a quick buck and get rid of the animal before it dies, they are happy with themselves

Snake Charmed
I owe an apology to R Reptile Ranch!

First off, I'm having problems with my old registration with Fauna, but my old user name was Christy's Critters. I will be using "Snake Charmed" until I can get things fixed. Anyway, I owe an apology to R Reptile Ranch! Today I got a call from Nicole and she is going to take care of the problem even though it has been 8-9 months after I purchased the Pueblan milksnakes, amazing people! I had sent them an e-mail about the problems with the male, but the e-mail was returned and I was told that they were selling out so I figured that was the end of that. I may have typed the e-mail address wrong. To Nicole and her husband, I'm really sorry that I posted the above post and if there were any way I could have it removed, I would! The fact that you are taking care of this problem long after speaks highly of you!
