Hey everyone,
I'm new to corn snakes, and actually only have a mild interest in them. However, my son has a female coral snow corn that is a bit over two years old. He is utterly fascinated with her, and has named her Frosty the snow corn.
He has begun asking me if he can get more corn snakes and breed them. I would love to encourage this, and intend to research and learn with him in order to help guide him through this process. However, I am far more familiar with boas. I understand the genetics for things like motley and hypo work differently in the corn snakes, and was hoping some of you might be able to point me to some books or sites with information regarding the various genetic traits present in the hobby and how they are passed down. Additional information regarding how care should be altered for breeding and egg care, care of newborn corns and other related topics would also be helpful. I've been looking up some sources on my own, but thought you guys might be able to help point me in the right direction.
If he's serious about doing this, I want him to learn as much as he can about it first. If he keeps up his current care practices and pursues this information diligently, I have agreed to help him acquire and care for more corn snakes.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
