As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

A small fly to identify...
Hello all,
Here is a little fly photographied on a flower in my garden in Quebec (near Vermont USA).
Is it possible to identify the species and/or the genus?

I might have guessed a Flesh fly, but it seems to lack the clear vertical stripes on the thorax and clear "checkerboard" on the abdomen. Other than that, it looks like a Flesh fly, lol.
Really nice shots! Thanks for sharing. If you ID it, please update here. I would like to learn.

Hello Laura,
Finally it is 2 different species both from the Tachinidae family!
The first image is Clausicella stigera
And the second is Ptilodexia sp.
