snake defacate problem

my 4" columbian red tail boa has not defacated for a while. is there a problem with him

Have you tried soaking it? Water usually stimulates them into eliminating.

how long is "a while", how big is he, what did he last eat, what temps are his high and low spots

he is 4 ft. 2 in. and it has been several weeks i dont know exactly how long it has been and he last ate on thursday the 13th.

What size meals and at what frequency are you feeding?

Well, with that amount of food, you should definitely be seeing a defecation.
As someone indicated earlier, a nice soak in tepid water will often cause snakes to eliminate.

Run your finger gently from the cloaca upwards and check for any blockage. Sometime urates will build up and cause a blockage. Again the warm water, combined with gentle massgae can be helpful. Assuming this is the case.
