Inflamed male pore- help?

I found one of my breeder males today with a strange thing sticking out of one of his pores. It looked to me to be harded residue, or whatever that substance they exude from there is. But it was hard, and sticking out about 1/8 inch. I pulled it and it came out fairly easily, but he is left now with an extra large hole there. The thing that came out looked like a small grain of rice- mostly translucent, and almost as hard as an uncooked grain. The pore is not bleeding, and he's not doing any extra licking, etc., but it is red and inflamed, mostly just the pore itself, the surrounding area is maybe only a little pink in one small spot. My question is, can I, should I put anything on it to help reduce the inflammation. I was thinking maybe some SSD, which I'm sure he'll probably lick off, or should I just keep it clean and give it a day or two? Also, any ideas as to what could have caused this? Is it poor hygiene on his part? Mine? Blockage? I will try to post a pic of it tommorrow, but my camera is not so great that close up.

Sounds like a sperm plug. I don't think there is a need but if it will make you feel better you can put some Neosporin or a similar product on the area. He will be fine regardless.

Great, thank you Kelli! I'm hoping it looks better already today. I thought sperm plugs would come from the cloaca area? Any thoughts as to what causes these? He is on a loose substrate, so I was a little concerned that a piece of it got stuck in there and blocked the pore, but there was no foreign substance in the plug. And may I say, gorgeous leos, Kelli!

She's right it will more than likely be fine, but if the inflamation continues and is making you nervous, I have successfuly reduced inflamation in leos by washing the area thoroughly and applying sugar.

Thank you Kara! It's looking much better already w/nothing on it.
