I have a quick question that I feel would make more sense being asked here rather than the hognose forum.
Are Western Hognose snakes legal in New York City? My roommate is interested in this species, but he's a NYC resident
According to this:
http://www.nyc.gov/html/doh/download...healthcode.pdf
No person may possess "All venomous, mid-or rear-fanged, Duvernoy-glanded members of the family
Colubridae, even if devenomized"
So, hognose snakes are rear-fanged and possess Duvernoy's glands... but does NYC consider them venomous as well [and by extension, are they illegal?]
He would ask this question himself, but I already had an account here anyway.
Thanks for the help!
