Aggressive Beardie

Anyone have problems with beardie being aggressive? I have a six month that I don't have a lot of time to try and tame and he/she refuses to let me pick it up. If I corner it it usually flares it's beard and opens it mouth. It even snapped at me last night. Any advice? I think I am going to sell it if things don't get much better.

I'd be willing to bet you have a male... They all seem to go through a defiant juvenile phase. They do grow out of it. Just give it some time! Keep feeding him lots, handle him frequently, and don't worry about it too much.

I hope so, I get really frustrated and it don't feel good to be bitten. I can kinda understand that he is just defending himself since my hand is just as big as he is.

Another idea is before you go to pick him up talk softly to him. As soon as you have a hold of him keep talking to him that way. It should comfort him and let him know that you aren't going to hurt him. That and try to handle him as much as possible.
Good luck!

I also have an agressive male. When he was younger he was quite the biter. He is now 7 mos. old and doesn't seem to want to bite any more but I still wear gloves when I handle him. Just keep holding on to him if he calms down and rub his little back, so he will get the idea. You can contact me if you decide to get rid of him.
