Howdy Jim,

I've found that having a 60W flood several inches above the screen top with another 5-6 inches to the basking spot usually leaves the screen temp safe enough not to do damage if the chameleon should crawl on it (but not stay long-term) yet still warm enough to create a decent basking temp in the mid 80's. Run a few tests of your own to confirm .

How about something like a 16x16x30 while he grows-up enough to have fun in the bigger enclosure?
