Thanks for the compliment.
Australian Cattle Dog, AKA Blue Heeler.

Excellent livestock workers and heavily coveted in my neck of the woods. He is the most well mannered and obedient dog. Except, he only obeys me-typical of the breed. And he goes berserk when there are horses or cattle around.

He is an epileptic and has about one focal motor seizure a month.

LOL thanks, I know, she is confusing. The people who owned the mother have no idea what the background of the sire was, as it was a loose dog that got into their dog's kennel while she was in heat. She definitely does NOT have a rottie head, the skull is very narrow and about as wide as the neck. It's a mystery *shrug*

I do know one thing though, I will NEVER get another husky mix ever again... I just can't deal with this perpetual shedding!! There are literally clumps of doghair in the lint catch of the dryer sometimes.

can't say as I blame you - I would recommend bypassing the husky mix and getting........................................... .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ................an Alaskan Malamute!! The only bad thing I can say about my old Mal was that he loved everybody. it got him stolen...twice.

Here's a bigger/better picture of my Golden Retriever, Jersey. She just
turned 5 this summer, but still acts like she's 5 MONTHS old. lol She's not
too fond of having her picture taken because of the flash. If I turn on the
red eye reduction, the rapid flashing scares her and she usually runs away.

Here's Jersey as a puppy, probably around 9-10 weeks or so:

I also have a sheltie, Kineesa, but she lives back home on the farm with our
other shelties. She will be 8 years old next month. She was diagnosed with
Cushing's disease (similar to what people get) a few years ago, and has become
quite frail because of it. It's really hard to watch her gradually deteriorate,
but she still has that little spark that lets you know she's happy
and not in too much pain. We had opted not to medicate her for it (vet
actually recommended against it) because the meds can actually cause more
problems I guess, and they won't prolong her life, nor make her any more
comfortable. It sucks. Living at home with the other Shelties is a lot easier
on her because she doesn't have a 50 lb. pogo stick knocking her over. Plus,
my mom is retired and has plenty of time to spoil her. I don't have any good
digital pics of her, so this scan will have to do. This was taken about 6 years
ago when I first moved here.

wow. Jersey looks really old in that picture. Must be the flash, because she
doesn't have any graying around her face yet. Oh, and Kineesa has turned
from tri-colored (like Jim's sheltie: Black w/ tan & white) to dark brown &
white because of the disease. She's also down to around 8-9 lbs from 14 or
so.

Well, they are all lucky that they found a home with you.
Hehe, Toto DOES tend to look a bit evil, lol.

I like to think they're pretty lucky too. And you have NO idea how much it pained me to be nice to the guy who had Sally (the cur) long enough to talk him into giving her to me instead of just shooting her. Funny thing about jerks like that....they don't want the animal, but then they don't want anyone else to have it, either.

GREAT pics from everyone!!! I love seeing other folks' pets, I think it says a lot about the person!!
