What the heck is this???

In all my years of reptiles, I have never seen anything like this come out of my feeders..(at least that is where I am assuming it came from)
I fed out mealworms to my geckos last night, open up one of the gecko tubs to see if they had eaten..this is what I found in their cage...and it moves
(pretty bad when my leos won't eat it...)

It's a mealworm pupa. It will become a mature mealworm beetle.

I found a close match, but I think it does not have enough legs.

I really have no idea, I would like to find out what that bug is you have.

Yep, it's mealworm pupae.

My leos never ate them either... but they're good to save if you don't wanna keep buying mealworms. I just toss those onto a mealie gutload in their own bin and they turn into beetles in a few days (don't worry, they don't fly!). Keep the beetles together so they can mate & make more mealworms

I did that for a while before I left the reptile hobby. Now that I'm back, I'll probably start up on that again soon - ESPECIALLY since the pet store gave me those end of the bulk box, basically dead mealworms .

now i have had the beetles running around before but never seen them in this stage...guess I should have dug deeper in my mealworm tub over the years!
