exo terra heat pad with rubbermaid?

I was wondering if it's safe to stick an exoterra substrate heater directly to the underside of a rubbermaid sweater box. I know the instructions specify that they should only be used on glass aquariums, but I figured that was just for liability reasons.

Actually your better off using foil tape to attach the pad to the tub. If you use the adhesive backing on the pad and then wat to remove it for cleaning, moving etc.. it may damage the element. If you use the foil tape you can just peal that off the put it back on when your ready with no danger of damage. Also you will have to use a themrostat to make sure it doesent get to hot...

Doh! Thanks Matt - unfortunately I set up my tubs before I saw your reply so the pads are already stuck on. I also initially set everything up without a thermostat but I've seen the error of my ways (see my post in the BP forum) so I just ordered ordered a thermostat from you. After reading a lot of comments and reviews I decided to go with a Johnson controls unit - I hope it gets here soon!
