What do I call these???

Hi!

Last year I bought a small group of snakes that were produced by breeding a creamsicle to a reverse okeetee corn.

I bred the siblings to each other and got these little guys.

I realize these aren't 100% corns because of the emoryi grandparent---but what should I call these?

Any help would be appreciated---they are really cool---but then again, I think that about everything I hatch!!!

Thanks for your advice!
Mark

If they have Emoryi blood, they're Creamsicles regardless of what they look like or how diluted Emoryi is in their blood.

Gotcha---Would they be just plain ol' CC or could I call them creamsicle Reverse Okeetees?

I think the babies I am hatching right now were the intended product of the original breeder's project.

They are mostly gonna "brighten up" my table at upcoming local herp shows. They sure are purty. But they definitely won't be something I'll be mixing with any of the rest of my collection.

Here's the mom---she's getting ready to lay her second clutch this season any day.

And here's dad

They are very substantial snakes---I guess that's partly the reason people cross them?

I've only seen a true creamsicle as a picture in Kathy Love's book--so I'm kinda stoopid wit deese.

Creamsicle is just the trade name for Emoryi x Elaphe. Creams can be Orange, Yellow or Red depending on what was inherited from the parents. They aren't Candy Cane's nor are they Reverse Okeetees. Because CC & RO are selectively bred variations of Amel, unless you breed to a matching CC or RO, you end up diluting the "look" of the original parent.

Not too sure who told you one of those snakes you just posted is a Reverse Okeetee...Because neither are.

This is an RO (photo courtesy of South Mountain Reptiles):

I may have mis-typed. The parents are the product of a CC x Reverse Okeetee corn.

Sorry aboot that!
