I have an incubation Question

Okay I have absolutely no experience in breeding Leos. i dont plan on breeding mine until 07' so I have ample time to read and ask questions and make sure that not only my leos are ready but I am ready too. So, I haven't seen this question ever come up, Can you let the female Leo incubate her own eggs?

My guess that the only way to do this would be to let her lay, keep the moist hide around 85 degrees, and keep it moist. They wouldn't incubate their own eggs, they just lay and leave. So really you couldn't let her incubate them, the absolute best bet is a hova bator. Has anybody out there accidentally left the eggs in the moist hide and had them hatch?

That would be a yes. Last summer I had three seperate clutches hatch out of the moist hide, all 6 babies were fine. This was a complete accident, and I do not recommend this at all! The babies (and me) were very lucky that a hungry Mommy Gecko did not decide to have them for dinner. An incubator is always the recommended choice!

Okay, I was just wondering. Never thought of doing it, I just never saw the question come up and i wasn't sure if Leos were anything like some snakes and incubate their clutch or like sea turtles or something that would just lay eggs in the sand.lol Couldn't think of any better comparisons. Its a good thing to know. Thanks everyone.
