Sorry, I just don't understand... obviously these people are everything you say they are and more. But geez.
He never said the $63 was ALL of his money, he said that was all of his CASH he had on him. Many people now a days no longer carry cash on them, almost 90% of things now a days are paid for by credit card/debit card or some other electronic payment(paypal, etc) and almost every store/business accepts credit cards/debit cards. Having "liquid cash" isn't common or needed since you can usually find an ATM at any part store/gas station or bank and take money out if its needed.

Maybe because my fiance gets paid every Saturday, he also just sold the car that wasn't running sitting in our driveway. All I had on ME was 60. He had over 300 and I was trying to get them to go down on price because it was "damaged goods" as you put it. I did it to save his life. And my kids have everything they need thank you. Instead of being ignorant why not ask politely?

I didn't want animal control to get their hands on this snake so they could euthanize it. I tried like crazy to get the boa that was loose in Niles Ohio. ODNR ran me on circles and then said he was going to be used for "educational purposes" after I tried to find out the rescue that had him and they refused to tell me. I didn't want this snake to be another statistic for the news to use against us, and to save his life! They are also selling a small female retic but I cannot get her because I'm putting money into him. My vet is allowing payments. I'm not paying the full cost up front because I have an awesome vet that works with people so if his care does run a large bill I have a payment plan. I knew all of this before taking him on. So please before anyone else is rude like he was I have this under control and he is in a good home now. I was trying to warn Ohio buyers and sellers to beware, to get the rest of the animals away, and beware they will lie to get more money.

Btw I have yet to heat back from the humane society. I sent them photos of the iguana from their ad, their texts which contained their address etc, everything they would need to start an investigation. I haven't heard a word, which I doubt I will. Whenever I emailed about a dog, if they were open they would contact me that day, if they were closed it was next morning. So I doubt they're going to do anything and also it seems like our humane society barely does anything unless it's news worthy or about the "traditional" pets.

Sorry for the spelling errors, my phone sometimes changes words to others that are spelled very similarly and it's a fault I don't proof read, probably should.

Sadly that is not uncommon, most are out of their depth if not dealing with either cute & cuddly, or livestock. Heck several counties call us if there's a snake to deal with, because they don't want to.

Yea, I know how ours operates. Not to derail, but I kept calling about a neighbor letting all their dogs loose. Beagle, big mix breed, and two small black dogs I think they were puppies. Took one of those puppies getting run over for them to do anything and they still let them loose after that. Our humane society I feel is a joke which is why I got him the **** out of there! I did not want them getting him, they would have made him seem bigger than he was and called him dangerous etc. After everything he still had not struck at me, only hissed and flung his body to push my hand away lol. I think once he's treated and feeling better he may be a sweety, or I may have an animal that has a ton more energy than he does now lol I just wish my vet was in tomorrow, I see an actual specialist so they're only at the office on certain days.

Of course. I wouldn't have said anything if I'd gotten that impression, but the text messages themselves said that she had a total of $63 to her name in the whole world, with nothing in the bank. Those are her words not mine. That's what concerned me. NO ANIMAL is worth leaving oneself completely depleted of funds when children are involved.

I did ask politely. I apologize for not using more smiley faces. As a father of two myself, this is close to my heart and perhaps it sounded more caustic than I intended.

My question remains, however. With no money in the bank, and living paycheck to paycheck (no judgment intended, I've been there many times myself), why take on such an ill-advised rescue that is going to cost you a lot of money you don't have? I certainly applaud your heart and intentions, but during times when money has been sparse and our kids have been involved, that was my cue to get RID of animals, which I did, not acquire more.

Sorry, I'm truly derailing the thread now. I just thought it was worthy food for thought.

Because we don't put all put money in the bank. You do not know my situation at all and are putting YOUR situation onto mine. I know how to take care of my family and animals.

You are coming off as very rude. It's not like I have 100 animals in my house and 5 kids. This is going very far off topic, you're bringing my home life into it, which you obviously have no idea what it's like, how much money we have, how many animals we have etc. I do not appreciate you jumping to such conclusions and making me out to be a bad mother for taking in an animal in need. I've always rescued animals. When I had my first son and taking care of my disabled father I was still rescuing dogs. I see an animal in need and if I can get it and care for it I will, I don't take on more than I can.

My reptile specialist does payment plans, and it's not like his care is going to end up $600. You're acting as if I just took food put of their mouths to help an animal. And did you even read what I said? He gets paid every saturday, we just sold a car, he had all that money on him, AT WORK, I had the $63 on me personally and I really didn't want to pay a ton of money for the snake because it needed help, and because they only wanted money off its suffering. Now stop making this about me, my kids, and home life, which you know nothing about.
