About the thread on Alex Hue....
This morning when I got up and cranked up the computer, I found that between 8:47am and 9:57am EST, this system had logged around 250 database errors on this forum. I ran a repair utility immediately upon discovering these errors, and that appeared to have fixed the problem.
However, when I came back from running errands later this morning and into the early afternoon, I had a few messages awaiting me via email asking about the thread started recently about Alex Hue. Some people were curious about why it had vanished.
Apparently it is gone. I know I did not delete it, and Ritchie has told me he has not either. I would bet money that Ken didn't delete it either. Best I can figure out that this database error must have happened right when someone was adding a message to this thread, and resulted in the entire thread being wiped out. There may be others that are just not there any longer as well, but so far I haven't heard anything about it.
Database errors can cause ANYTHING to happen, so it's possible this missing thread has relocated itself into another thread somewhere or who knows what might have happened. I did a search, but so far NONE of the messages in that thread have turned up at all.
My apologies to all involved, but certainly this was unforseen, and not much I can do about it. I did do a backup of the database around 3:30 am, but the only way to easily recover the thread would be to overlay the current database with the saved copy. That would, of course, wipe out EVERYTHING entered in here since the backup was taken. So the cure might be worse than the disease, in this instance.
Again, sorry about this, but no truer words were spoken as when someone first said "Sh!t happens!"
