What kind of Monitor to get?

I currently am wanting to settle on one reptile, instead of having numerous ones as i don't have time for like 3-5 reptiles, i currently have a 8x2x2 custom enclosure, i'm not looking for a tree monitor, looking for a monitor that could live his whole life in this enclosure and have room, not looking for anything that grows over 5 feet. Also not looking for something real hyper, looking for something that stays clam :P doubt i'll find anything, or i am taking suggestions on what to put in the enclosure.

Sounds like a Savanna would work for your caging description.

I wouldn't really suggest a savannah as most get longer then 2 foot at full grown. The cage may be really long but it's not very deep or wide.

What about something like Ackies, Timors or the dwarf /small species??? More bang for your buck because great things come in little packages. My timors have always had such huge personalities for such small monitors.

Ya I would also sugest a savanna monitor. They are tame and more like stay about 3 to 4 foot tail to head. Good luck

+1 to the Ackies or the Timors. Both relatively 'tame' as far as monitors go.
